Both use the same PDLC switching technology. Smart Film is applied to glass you already have — a retrofit. Smart Glass has the switching layer laminated inside the glass at manufacture, so it replaces your glazing rather than being added to it. Smart Glass suits new builds, renovations and full glass replacement; Smart Film suits existing homes and offices you don't want to reglaze.
